Here at Boulder Creek Fence, our job is to design and build beautiful, long lasting fencing that home owners will enjoy for years to come. A big part of achieving that goal is not only selecting the right type of fence material, but helping homeowners choose the style the best fits their wants and needs.
This blog post will help homeowners in Boise choose the right style for them by providing details and information about each of the different privacy fence styles.
First of all, what is a privacy fence?
Just like the name implies, a privacy fence helps keep noise, pets, and kids in or out. Privacy fencing also provides separation from your neighbors, and can even act as a crime deterrent. They are usually six feet tall, with no visibility between the slats. Privacy fencing can be more expensive and possibly require more maintenance than other styles, simply because they are made with more material. Privacy fencing also may not fit the aesthetic design of some neighborhoods, and in some cases may not even be allowed by the HOA.
Within this category of fencing, we offer several materials, each with different styles.
Vinyl Privacy Fence: – Durable and low maintenance, but more expensive than cedar.
The Cascade:
A traditional vinyl privacy fence, and one of the most popular and affordable options in vinyl.
The Chesterfield With Closed Picket:
A beautiful 6 foot solid privacy fence with a closed picket design on top.
The Columbia With Lattice:
A very popular option in the Boise area, featuring full privacy with a lattice design that adds a unique and eye catching look.
The Lexington With Scalloped Pickets.
A privacy fence with open scallop shaped pickets on top.
Panel Privacy
A style that uses three 1.5”x5.5” rails which fit the corrugated panels in nicely.
Cedar Privacy Fence: – Beautiful, and low cost, but requires maintenance.
Dog Ear Cedar
Dog Ear cedar fence is by far is the most common style of fence we sell in Boise. It typically comes in either 4 or 6 inch pickets which can vary in grade from a #3 no hole to a premium board. This particular fence also can use either cedar or galvanized posts.
Picture Frame Cedar
This product is an excellent choice for those who want a style other than just plain dog ear cedar. By adding the trim on the top and bottom of each section it adds just enough to give the fence its own style.
Picture Frame Shadow Box
This style has become more and more popular over the years mainly because it is so stout. With a board on board style it sets itself apart from the other styles of cedar.
