The fence surrounding your Boise area home, business, farm, or industrial site is a multi-purpose structure. At the very least, it supplies security, creates a visual boundary, and potentially beautifies a property. There are numerous materials applied to the purpose of fence-building. Read about some of them here.
Long Lasting Metal
Metal is of course a long lasting and sturdy material with which to build a fence. Many projects which employ metal feature beautiful ornamental designs, such as decorative wrought iron fences, entrance gates, playground fencing, and even swimming pool border fence.  Wrought Iron fences require almost zero maintenance, and most often come in neutral or earth tone colors like black, brown, bronze, grey or green.
Chain link fencing also falls under this category, and although not usually considered to be decorative or beautiful, there is no denying that chain link fence is a perfect choice for security, and even privacy.  Choose a chain link fence, if you want to pay less for a tough and sensible fence that will last.
The Natural Look: Wood
It might not be as durable and weather-resistant as other fencing materials, but wood is charming and warm. No other material makes a place look so much like home with its unique grains and the smell of cedar, oak or pine. Families often select wood to create a comforting effect around the back yard and build high to block neighbors from viewing family members as they play, swim, or sunbathe. Wood can be stained or painted and is fairly tough in normal situations, but beware of extreme climates or weather events. These could cause warping and cracks. Wood panel fencing offers good security and privacy.
Low Maintenance Vinyl
Somewhere between wood and metal is the synthetic option: vinyl fencing. While it won’t last for a century the way wrought iron will, vinyl will out last wood and can be shaped in the same ways, so pricing sits between these other two materials. Cap fence posts or line posts up to create a rolling or pyramid shape. Select paneled fencing or a wood-look without the maintenance. Choose vinyl for the best of both worlds, low maintenance, long lasting, and beautiful.
